Info
Children’s Health in Dallas is one of the nation’s leading pediatric healthcare providers, known locally for its signature red balloon logo. Our challenge was to evolve their brand identity in a way that resonated with both adults and children—professional and trustworthy for parents, yet friendly and uplifting for young patients.
Building on the strength of the their existing red balloon logomark, I reimagined it as a flexible design element that could adapt across platforms. The balloon became more than a logo: it framed photography, highlighted headlines, and inspired playful illustrations that brought warmth and approachability to the brand.
I introduced a unique illustration style using transparent balloon-like shapes and linework reminiscent of balloon strings, creating visuals that ranged from animals to whimsical mascots. The hospital’s core colors were preserved to maintain familiarity, while the expanded toolkit allowed for fresh, dynamic applications across digital and print touchpoints.
The result was a 175-page set of brand guidelines that equipped Children’s Health with a cohesive, versatile identity—one that honors their existing equity while creating a welcoming, modern brand experience for patients and families alike.
