Info
The Dallas Theater Center’s Centerstage Gala is an annual fundraising event that supports the theater’s next year of productions. For the 2020 Gala, the theater chose a “Pop Chic” theme, with featured entertainment provided by the company’s female vocalists. I translated their pop art–inspired theme into a bold, vibrant invitation, distributed to the theater’s most prominent supporters. The folded invitation opened into a 2 × 3 grid of perforated cards, with an illustration of a woman singing on the front side split into dynamic color variations across each panel. Fluorescent inks, crisp shapes, and halftone textures created immediate visual impact when the invitation was pulled from
its envelope.
The reverse side of the invitation displayed event details in a structured, engaging layout using their bold brand font, while perforated sections allowed guests to detach ticket and payment cards for easy mailing. The final piece not only reflected the gala’s playful, pop-inspired theme but also delivered a user-friendly, interactive experience for recipients.
